Smartec Day/Night camera for small business

Smartec Company product line has been supplemented with STC-3009 Day/Night cameras equipped with removable IR cut filter and capable to deliver quality images with 540 TVL res at up to 0,08/0,04 lux of min illumination. New Day/Night camera is equipped with 1/3″ SONY Super HAD II CCD, featuring enhanced color rendering, DNR (digital noise reduction, auto gain control (AGC), flickerless/backlight compensation. In addition this Day/Night analog allows user to mount lenses with auto iris (AI) controlled by DC or video signals.

New camera has Sony SuperHAD II CCD and Sony processing algorithm helping Smartec Day/Night cameras to produce crisp video with 540 TVL in bright, artificial or natural light conditions. In low light conditions STC-3009 utilizes auto gain control, that enhances the signal level at 26 dB.

Around-the-clock CCTV operation is carried out by removable IR cut filter, which switches security camera between “Day” and “Night” modes. With a decrease of illumination level up to 2 lux, IR cut filter is automatically disabled and Day/Night camera switches from color to b/w mode. Also this camera can produce color and b/w images at 0.08/0.04 lux respectively.

Digital noise reduction (DNR) effectively eliminates noise component of the video signal enabling STC-3009 to improve images quality even in low light conditions. With DNR new Day/Night camera provides exceptional disk space saving along with an improved visual perception of the images.

Smartec camera settings can be adjusted with DIP-switches located on the rear panel of the security camera. It enables installer to adjust camera settings and activate wide range of the functions according to the recent conditions. For example, Smartec Day/Night camera enables user to activate automatic gain control (AGC), internal synchronization, flickerless/backlight compensation and electronic shutter operation.

In the base product configuration new Day/Night camera can operate indoors at temperatures ranging from -10 ° to +50 ° C. For camera installation it is recommended to use optional wall/ceiling brackets: Smartec STB-C01 and STB-C02. The efficiency of security cameras in low light conditions enables customer to use this camera for outdoor applications. Depending on temperature, humidity and other factors, this camera must be placed in a thermal housing. For example, Smartec STC-1230S thermal housing features IP66 rating and ensures stable security camera operation at temperatures ranging from -40 ° to +50 ° C.

New STC-3009 supports all types of lenses allowing customer to use Smartec camera in low light conditions. For example, STC-3009 Day/Night camera can work with vari focal model STL-2712DC or STL-40FFDC lens with fixed focal length. Also new this Day/Night camera can work with lenses with AI (auto iris, controlled by video or DC signal.

CCTV Systems to protect your small business

Talk to any business owner in the UK and they will have no doubt at some point asked, “is a CCTV system right for me?” The answer put simply is YES!!!

CCTV cameras are an excellent addition to any business or home security system, adding an important visual deterrent to any business premises. Not only that but a CCTV system can help to obtain evidence in the event of any crime being committed, evidence which may be vital in helping you to have your goods returned.

It was once a case that a high quality CCTV system was only available to those wishing to spend thousands of pounds investing in the best quality CCTV cameras, DVR recorders and monitors, this is however no longer the case. You can now have a professionally installed CCTV system with high resolution CCTV cameras and an internet capable DVR recorder for less than £600.

How do I select the right CCTV system for my business?

Selecting the right CCTV system for any location is something that will require you to consider several factors. You should first look at what you want the CCTV cameras to do. Do you want a camera that will give you a general surveillance of a certain area? Or do you want a camera that will provide a more defined image but of a smaller area? Alternatively you may wish to have a camera that is capable of covering multiple areas, if you wanted to do this you would need to consider using a PTZ camera.

As a general rule you should always have a camera that has a resolution of at least 470 TVL. Cameras that have a resolution of 540 TVL are considered to be a very high resolution, however there have been recent models of CCTV cameras which have a resolution as high as 600 TVL.

You should also consider the type of DVR recorder you are going to use. This can be a hard choice for some as there are many DVR recorders available that have a huge amount of features. There are a few things that you should insist on when looking for any DVR. The first is that they are capable of recording in Real Time, this means that the DVR will record 25 frames per second (FPS), this should be available for every channel. A real time DVR will have a total recording capacity of 100FPS for a 4 channel recorder, 200FPS for an 8 channel recorder and 400FPS for a 16 channel DVR Recorder.

Almost all DVR recorders are able to be connected to the internet, this is ideal if you have many properties that you wish to protect, allowing you to view the CCTV cameras at each property, from one location through an internet connection.

A DVR can be set to record in a number of ways, the most popular being to record when motion is detected. This is a feature built in to some DVR recorders and means images will only be recorded onto the hard drive when there is movement. The benefit of this is that it reduces the amount of data stored on the hard drive and therefore increases the length of time that you can record for.

CCTV Cameras at night.

CCTV cameras are usually required to be used 24 hours a day. This means that they have to perform at night, in low light levels and still produce high quality images. It will be difficult for a colour CCTV camera to produce a high quality image in low light levels, this means that a monochrome CCTV camera would be used. However it is preferable to have a colour image when light levels permit. To accomplish this most high quality CCTV cameras have a feature that allows them to produce high quality colour images in optimum light levels and when the light falls to a certain level the CCTV camera will produce images in black and white. These are known as Day/Night CCTV cameras.

CCTV lighting.

CCTV cameras work best when there is a level of usable light. Each CCTV camera will have a different light level that they can work in and this is measured in lux. To help your CCTV camera produce the best possible images you should ensure that adequate lighting is provided in the areas your cameras will be covering. It is also important to use the correct type of lighting for the CCTV camera you are using.

With a colour CCTV camera you should only ever use “white light”, using an infra red light will have no effect upon the image in low light levels. If you have a black and white CCTV camera then you should install infrared lighting to help maximise the image. Many CCTV cameras that have a day/night feature will also have an inbuilt infra red light, allowing you to obtain high quality images without having to install seperate lighting.

How Do you Choose the Right Business Security for your Business?

When you have a business there are many reasons why you will need business security. Having security is a smart business move. You need to make sure that you choose the right one for your business needs. There are many systems available that you can use for business security but you want to take some time to check out as many as you can before you decide. It is important that you get exactly what you need and that you can get it at a price that you can afford.

Depending on the size of your business building and property will depend on the type of business security system that you choose. There are wireless and wired options that you need to check into to find the best system for your business needs. You also need to make sure that you find out all the pros and cons of each type of system.

You need to make sure that the business security system can be supervised from a secure location. The cameras need to be placed in strategic places where you can’t easily see it. This will give you a much better chance of protecting your property by being able to catch burglars on camera so you can provide it to the law. This will help them catch whoever did damage to your business. Not only that, but the security system should be able to alert the cops that something is wrong if you get the right system.

One important thing that you need to do when you have a business security system is to make sure that you place the signs where they are visible to everyone. You want everyone to know that you have a security system for your business because most of the times burglars will stay away from places’ that have a good system. They don’t want to be arrested. The security system will make a loud racket and alert cops. Make sure that you put a sign in the window of your business and in your yard where everyone can see it. This helps to deter burglars too.

Having security for your business will make it more secure and will make you feel more at ease. You will know that when something happens and you are not there that your security system will take care of alerting the authorities when something is going on. So choosing the right security system is very important not only for your peace of mind but also to help you protect your business.
